| by Laughing Moon Mercantile Both the Double and Single Breasted Frock Coats and Vest A are exact copies of an antique frock and matching vest circa 1880. Vest B is a copy of a vest circa 1850. The silhouette of all garments are appropriate for the time period 1850-1915. The double breasted frock coat can be buttoned on either side. The silk lining shows at the notched collar. The single breasted option has a plain collar and 4 buttons. They both have tails opened to the waist and have inside pockets in both breast and in the tails. Vest A has a notched collar and four welt pockets on the outside and two inside pockets at the breast. The collar is “laid on” and does not go all the way around the back of the neck. Vest B has a shawl collar and two welt pockets. View B’s collar goes all the way around the back of the neck. The back of both vests has a cinch belt. |

The Natural Form era Petticoat with Detachable Train - TV121 is being retired. Instead, we will be replacing it with an updated version - TV125 - but with the same name. With a totally revamped train piece, I felt it would be better to rename the pattern as new, rather than issue a new version with the same number. The main body of the petticoat will be the same, with the netting pillowed between two layers in the back. But the changes include 2 small hem ruffles instead of 1 larger one. And the train will now come off the back of the petticoat behind the knee, rather than at the floor. This will allow the petticoat to be used with TV225 - Fantail Skirt. I have long wanted to "fix" this pattern so that it was more functional, and hopefully the new version coming very soon will do everything I need it to. Anyone who has ordered the TV121 petticoat after May 17th will be receiving the new TV125 version instead. We should have the new pattern available very soon. Thank you all very much! and Happy Sewing! All news Subscribe |
