| This corset pattern is taken from an original pattern found in the May 31, 1886 issue of De Gracieuce, a Dutch magazine similar to Harpers Bazzar. It was published in several other magazines of the time as well, including La Mode Illustre and Harpers Bazzar. This pattern has been modified slightly to accommodate the different cup sizes and modern body types, but retains most of the original proportions and elegance of the original garment. This corset has 6 panels, a center front busk, and laces in the center back. |
| Recommended fabrics: Twill, coutil, canvas, drill, etc. Sizing and Yardage Information: All the sizes are included, as given below.
* Measurements given in the chart are "as laced," and include 2" gap and allowance for fabric "give". If using your unlaced waist measure, subtract 2-4" before using the above chart. Notions: Corset Busk (14" long), 6 yard corset string, 1 package extra wide double fold bias tape to match fabric (very large sizes will need 2 packages, grommets (00 size works best), 12-28 white steel or spiral steel 1/4" wide stays, depending on size.

The Natural Form era Petticoat with Detachable Train - TV121 is being retired. Instead, we will be replacing it with an updated version - TV125 - but with the same name. With a totally revamped train piece, I felt it would be better to rename the pattern as new, rather than issue a new version with the same number. The main body of the petticoat will be the same, with the netting pillowed between two layers in the back. But the changes include 2 small hem ruffles instead of 1 larger one. And the train will now come off the back of the petticoat behind the knee, rather than at the floor. This will allow the petticoat to be used with TV225 - Fantail Skirt. I have long wanted to "fix" this pattern so that it was more functional, and hopefully the new version coming very soon will do everything I need it to. Anyone who has ordered the TV121 petticoat after May 17th will be receiving the new TV125 version instead. We should have the new pattern available very soon. Thank you all very much! and Happy Sewing! All news Subscribe |
