1903 Trumpet Skirt

Postby Amphigorey » Fri Dec 16, 2011 2:13 pm

I have some candid photos of my newest gown from last weekend at Dickens Fair. I'm hoping to have better shots soon, but for now this is what I have. I'm wearing the Edwardian corset under it, and I'll have pics of that soon too.

It's the 1903 trumpet skirt pattern (which I LOVE) in red silk twill with a black net lace overlay. The bodice I draped myself, after much futzing to get the fit and look right for a 1903 evening gown. The belt is from Period Patterns for Stage & Screen.

(I'm holding the skirt up so it doesn't drag, which is why the drape looks funny in the front.)

My friend and I are scuba divers, so we had to get a picture with the antique dive suit! She is wearing the dinner bodice, the fantail, and the split pannier skirt.

Love the bodice. Can't wait to see more detail shots of all pieces.

Beautiful! I really like the trim that you did for the "sleeves" That looks really amazing.
