Found a fun card at my grocery store this morning:

It's from the 'Saturdays' line from Expressions from Hallmark.

That check dolman on the right looks incredibly inconvenient to wear - you'd hardly be able to move your arms at all, not even to hold up that parasol she's carrying.

Indeed, that does look stupidly constricting. I hadn't noticed the check cuz I'm in love with the passementerie on the other one.

Cute card! :D

And you are right, that dolman is not exactly realistic... But I have myself discovered some things that aren't really "right" on these fashion plates.. Other than the super thin waists, that is. ;) While these are amazing detailed and carefully made at the printing process, the drawing itself may have a lot of problems. so the fault would be the illustrator, and not the person preparing it for the print. (forgot the term)

Dolmans during the 1880s were very restrictive. They allow you to stand and hold a muff, and pretty much nothing else. They are so pretty, but not overly function by today's standard of movement.

Too bad, I have admired the 80s dolmans. Nothing for me then, I dislike being immobile. Both for being deaf (sign language) and me just simply dislike it.
