Natural form skirt
I visited a local second hand store today and found this skirt, which I believe to be an original natural form skirt that was hand sewn. The color of the detail pictures are more accurate. And excuse my expression, lol!

Re: Natural form skirt
Miss Heather,
I realize you cannot see the material well, but under the pleats was a black fabric that was not polished cotton. It felt rather rough in texture and the weave was not real tight. Do you have any guesses what it might be?
Also, for anyone interested, the whole skirt was lined basically. I was quite surprise by how heavy it felt. I don't have any idea what its measurements were. I did not think to pull out my tape and measure it.
I really did want to buy it, but the price was a bit more than I was willing to pay.

Re: Natural form skirt
Wow, that is a great find. Looks like an original Natural Form skirt to me. They really new how to make everything look great, with linings and everything. I really have no idea what the fabric would be. I could be silesia, through. I understand that was a favorite lining fabric in the day. It is hard to find today, but you can usually get it at tailoring shops, sometimes called pocket lining.
