Did you cut the hem into 3 points, one center front, and one on each side?

I have not cut the center front into a point (yet) but I did cut the 2 side backs into a point at the edge closest to the back piece. It keeps flopping over so I'm thinking that it is too wide at the hemline. I'm going to try it on again tomorrow after some of the shortening revisions I made (sure wish my dress form had legs!)

On the pleats, don't pleat the entire side seam. Leave the bottom 6-8" or so of the seam flat. The will help keep the hem edge from angling to much. Also, this apron does not have a lot of extra length in the front, so you will most likely need to shorten the whole apron.

Yes, I shortened it by about 4" and am using the string casings we discussed over the phone instead of pleats, stopping the casing about 15" from the bottom hem.

15" seems like a lot. The back edge should be the short side of the square, angling down to a point.
