TV208 Trained Skirts phase 2

Postby majors » Thu Oct 23, 2014 12:51 pm

Good Afternoon~

I just finished the main components of the overskirt for my plaid silk dress. The downside is despite my best efforts and a very simple plaid to match, I still couldn't get the pattern to match on the sides....le sigh. I used the TV208 trained skirt pattern, just modified the hemline on the front. The back pieces have been lengthened, and then I added some netting and a couple of gathering channels to keep the puffs where I wanted them.

Yeah, the back is HUUUUUUUGE; I really really wanted a big fluffy bustle skirt. :D

Oh, wow! Love it. I hear ya on the matching plaid thing. It is virtually impossible to match plaid on these skirts, with one bias edge meeting a straight edge. If you match the top, the bottom is off, and vis-versa. Don't let it bother you. :D

Gorgeous!
I have seen many pictures of originals and the plaids did not match. You are in excellent company there. :D
Can't wait to see it finished and worn. Love plaid dresses!
