Evangeline

Postby MaryGode » Sun Jul 27, 2014 4:13 pm

Just back from AnimeIowa 2014. The theme of the ballroom dance this year was 'Disney'. I conceived a dress idea about two weeks ago: Evangeline from 'The Princess and the Frog. (Evangeline is the star that the cajun firefly Ray loves.)

Behold Evangeline:

The skirt is the Parisian skirt TV216 and the bodice is the 1871 Day Bodice TV400. The fabrics are white organza covered with glitter stars (backed with white muslin), and metallic gold knit. The glow comes from three strings of battery-powered fairy lights pinned to the ruffle overlay of my bustle petticoat.

That is lovely, and truly creative with putting the lights in the bustle, how fun! :D

Thank you both! It was such fun to wear and so messy to make - the glitter got everywhere. The best part was all the exclamations from people when they realized my butt was glowing.

That's beautiful and very clever.
Also handy for Health and safety walking in the dark. ;)

It looks even cooler in the dark! Despite the glitter explosion (I think it spread to the rest of the laundry room now...) it was an awesome, imaginative dress.
