Just Completed Imperial Tournure!

Postby majors » Wed Jun 04, 2014 1:18 pm

Good Afternoon!

Once again I can't say enough positive things about these patterns! The bustle took less than 4 hours to make, all the pieces fit together perfectly, and the result is amazing! I love how Truly Victorian patterns make Victorian costuming so accessible and easy; letting the costumer's creativity shine. Below are pictures of my completed Imperial Tournure: I put the boning casings on the outside because I love the structure of this bustle, and used petersham ribbon for the waistband (it saves time IMO). The only other change was adding a third dart due to a large difference in the hip-waist ratio (more than 15 inches). Thank you Heather for your amazing patterns!
Front with extra trim, couldn't help myself!

Awesome! I love the color! I need to make my tournure. Fabric's cut out but I haven't touched it since. I need to remedy that...

That is so cool! I love the exterior boning casings.

Awesome bustle! It was a good decision to put the boning channels on the outside, it has a beautiful effect.
