1884 Ballgown

Postby DuchessArgylle » Sun May 05, 2013 4:46 pm

I made this for the Morpheus Theatre's production of The Gondoliers. I will post more photos of the dress as I get them. I used the Wash overskirt pattern, the four gore underskirt pattern and the ballgown bodice pattern, with modifications.

For the Wash overskirt, the centre panel I used some embroidered and beaded organza I had purchased ages ago, and on the bodice, moved the closure to the back (did a laced closure rather than buttons).

I have to admit, this dress turned out very well and I really enjoyed wearing it.Image

How beautiful! I love all the different textures, embroidery to ruching, pleats to smooth satin. A delight for the eyes. :D

Wow stunning, did you make the gloves to go with the dress?

Thank you! No, the gloves were an Ebay special. I'm glad they matched so well!
