This post is long overdue, but I've gone through a lot in the last four months...

Last spring, I was asked to do a cutaway dress form for the Kent Historical Society, where I was working at the time. I chose an 1880s style dress modeled after a plate found in Elegant French Fashions of the 19th Century by Joanne Olian and used several of Heather's patterns including the chemise, drawers, petticoat, corset, gore skirt, asymmetrical overskirt, and French Bodice.

The project was a lot of fun but quite challenging as well since it required some of the pieces to be made in 3/4 or 1/2 pieces. The goal is for visitors to be able to see the multiple layers in a Victorian dress.

The half of the dress that's there is lovely, and the cut-away does an excellent job of breaking down how the outfit comes together. What a wonderful display piece!
