Latest Natural Form gown.... not quite done but close

Postby rajani » Wed May 30, 2012 7:20 pm

Alrighty.... after a lot of work and a two-month shutdown while my sewing room got finished, here's the dress I've been working on since last winter. It's almost done with the exception of the parasol and some finishing details to the dress. The color is not nearly as over-the-top yellow as shown here... it's a very nice gold shot silk taffeta with a peach, taupe, cream and gold striped silk to contrast. Hand-sewn copper bead accents on all the white lace. Matching hat and reticule done, as well. I love the hat. I had enough leftover ruffle and perfectly matched trims that it is spectacular.

What do you think? I have to wear this to a cowboy shoot in one week. As usual, coming in right under the wire. :D

I'll post a nicer pic when I have time, but this was just quickly snapped with my iPhone in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

Love the ruffles! Nothing like a train covered in ruffles.

And yes, we wanna see it on!

Beautiful! I love the fabrics. It's times like this that I wish I could wear yellow because that shade is so nice and sunny!

Fantastic, and a good deal of hours work went into that train I'll wager. I trust you had a fair number of well dressed 'cowboys' ready to escort you! You really must post a picture of you wearing it.
