Steamerella bustle dress

Postby gretagretchen » Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:20 pm

Here is the steamerella outfit (the fabrics reminded me of disney's Cinderella) my friend and I made. My friend got a sewing machine for a present but she didn't know how to use it. We made the underskirt together and it was the first clothing item she had ever sewn. She got excited and did the overskirt completely by herself. I sewed the bodice and her bustle pad. The bodice was a big deal for me because it was the first time I've made a bodice for someone besides myself.

Very pretty! What color is your bodice? Congrats on making the outfit together!

I'm a little confused by your question. I made the bodice in the photos.

I was just curious what color the fabric is that you used for making the bodice in the pictures. My monitor may not be quite right, but it looks to be a blue with orange shot.

oh right! yes it was a kind of pale steel blue with an orange / orange yellow shot poly silk. It's really groovy fabric actually. We got a great deal on it. I should have bought some myself!
