The Burbidge Dress

The Burbidge Dress is the new name for my Birthday Dress. It's inspired by one of the dolls from Mr. John Burbidge's collection in the book Les Petites Dames de Mode. I was wondering what the back of the dress looked like, and Lady LaSalle called him and asked! He told her it was a black bow faced with red silk, and was just as nice as can be. Sweet!

Here's the inspiration:

Here's my version:

That is truly marvelous! I love your accessories, a top-hatted gent just makes an outfit sometimes. Did you do the sequins on the lace or did it come that way?

Thanks, MaryGode! Yes, the net came with all the sequins. That was such a lucky find!

A great amount of work gone into that, and a great dress as a result! Did you hand pleat all the red pleats on the panniers?

Perfection! I think that is your prettiest creation yet.

What type of necklace are you wearing? It's difficult to see at such a distance, it suits the gown so well.
