1865 Day Dress

No better time like the present to start sharing things.

I've been working with TV patterns for about two years now and this is the first dress I've posted into the board. I finished the dress itself around October and I've still got a bit of work to do on the crinoline cage (you can't see them but there's still a few pins in the boning). The inspiration for this came mostly from Godey's fashion plates.

Made using a combination of the garibaldi blouse, spanish jacket, elliptical skirt, and corselet patterns.

Green! So pretty! Did you apply the lines of trim on the skirt?

I did. And they're hard to see, but there's velvet ribbon around the sleeve edges, neckline and front of the jacket too.

And the fabric is just regular cotton. Makes it great for cleaning :D

My inner obsessive is kvelling over the precision of the spacing. 8) What kind of fabric did you use?

That's gorgeous, and so period appropriate. The velvet trim just makes the whole outfit. Very nice job!
