Victorian Mourning Costume

I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery, the historic cemetery here in Atlanta. We wear costumes for several annual events, so I wanted to do a Victorian widow costume. I went with the Natural Form patterns, so it's the TV420 bodice, 221 underskirt and 324 overskirt. The undergarments include the TV110 corset, 105 combination underwear and 170 petticoat. I used cotton pique: I wanted a rather plain look, since widows weren't supposed to be flashy (but I had to have some fun with the hat!).

A huge thanks to Heather and those of you who helped me on here! This is my first Victorian outfit and the biggest project I've ever sewn.

The corset was so much easier to make than I expected! The mock-up I made with scrap fabrics turned out so well that I never made the "real" one:

I made a mechanical arm and went for a steampunk look at DragonCon:

The mock-up I made with scrap fabrics

I need better scrap, none of my muslin-making fabrics are that pretty. Lovely matching across the corset front, and that mecha-arm is wicked! 8)

That is a stunning mechanical arm. Would you mind telling me how to made it? Even a rough summary would be great.
