Green and cream check polonaise

Postby ginnymorgan » Mon Apr 19, 2010 7:15 am

Finally got it done! The sleeves gave me fits but here it is...I also did the hat. Now if I could just find some nice brown boots with heels that actually fit me...LOL Have the worlds worst feet..

I hear you on bad feet. I can't wear heels over an inch (inherited bunion tendencies) and I have wide feet, so basically nothing fits.

Fantastic! And I love your hat... did you make the base yourself, or buy one and decorate it? If you bought it (or bought a pattern for it) tell us all WHERE!

Hi Erin, Thank you...The hat was a straw hat that I bought at a crafts store and then soaked and shaped. Then added the trim...but the craft stores are no longer carrying them so I am fiddling with taking apart big straw sun hats and remaking them..so far I am doing ok..Lynn Mcmasters has a site with some info on working with straw and there is a site called "your wardrobe unlocked" that is fantastic. Lynn posted step by step info on redoing the big straw hats...not difficult at all once you get the hang of it..

here are some links.

Oh Ginny Darlin' - how lovely you are, and this new outfit is scrumptuous! Great job, no one could guess the sleeves were a problem at all! :bounce:
