Brocade Overbust Corset

Postby Amphigorey » Wed Aug 12, 2009 10:59 pm

I just finished this corset tonight, and I'm very pleased with how it came out. It's the TV pattern, with a raised bustline so that it can be worn as modern outerwear.

Obviously it'll look better once it's on a person, but since the person I made it for is out of the country, the pillow had to stand in for her.

I'm especially pleased about matching the pattern center front.

Excellent pattern matching. How many and what type of boning did you use?

It is beautiful! I love the colors. And wow! Matching the material in the front looks fabulous!

Gorgeous! You should be pleased about that matching front. Lovely workmanship!

Thank you!

I used spiral bones on the bust curve, and a spoon busk. The rest of the bones are 1/4" steel, two on each seam.

Loved the fabric. I found something slightly similar in a shop selling "oriental" fabric in Montmartre, Paris.
