Inspired by extant garments from the period of 1859 - 1862, pointy bodices and open pagoda sleeves seemed popular enough to try and put the two together :) I piped the sleeves and armholes, adjusted the neck and backline to be more summery and even though I'm quite sure the print is not historically accurate for the period it's not to be worn for re-enacment, the buttons are 5/8" and faux tortoiseshell it's lined in self-fabric and the front in glazed cotton. Also made up the garibaldi blouse pattern to go underneath with some glass buttons.

I will be wearing this dress with a bonnet I made a few weeks earlier:

Maybe I'll get some decent pictures wearing it at the event or possibly after if not :)

ooooo that's pretty.... :D Is that the TV cage crinoline under that? I love the shape. And the bonnet is pretty as well.

That's lovely! Very cool sleeves, I've been wanting to do something like that myself. Please post pics when you have the whole ensemble on!

I like the colour of your bonnet. Where did you get the pattern for it?
