I finished something!

Postby colleency » Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:28 pm

I've been working on an 1860s dress forever, and I finally finished it in time to wear to the SDI ball last Saturday. I used TV patterns for the Elliptical hoop, petticoat and skirt. The bodice was a fairly awful Patterns of Time pattern that I used for the mockup and changed as needed.

Here's a page of pictures from the ball, which include pictures of Lauren and Koshka as well.

Awesome!! Your overall shape and drape is perfect. Those are the best stripes, so even. -sigh- Your are lovely. :) What is your contrast color? My monitor is having problems deciding if it is brown or burgundy, either way, The combo is stunning.

Koshka, and Lauren are also fabulous. I hope I never learn where Lauren's closet is or I may have to steal that dress! Soooo pretty!

Thanks for sharing, looks like you had a blast.

Thank you! The stripes and bertha are brown with a tiny bit of copper trim.

I agree on the colours - they really make the dress. Especially the guards on the skirt! Well done.
