Ouch, you poor thing. I can sympathize. Our house got hit by lightning the month before I got married. Hadn't made any costumes yet, then, but I ran out of the house with my 2-year-old sister under one arm and my wedding dress over the other!

Looks like yours had more that burned... Our fire department was just around the corner, so they put it out before it spread beyond the attic. The sad thing is, the "restorers" ruined more of our things than the smoke & water did! They dumped stuff into their commercial washer and dryers without checking to see what it was first... so my sister's tulle flower girl dress got melted, as did the first wedding veil I'd made. They almost did the same to my grandmother's antique wedding gown, but my mom saw it in their pile and grabbed it fast!
