Hello from Connecticut!

Postby pixellle » Sun Sep 11, 2011 11:47 am

Hi! I'm actually here for my 14 1/2 yr old daughter, who loves sewing historically-correct dresses. She just finished an amazing Colonial-era ball gown, and previously did a Renaissance-era dress. I'm wondering if there are any dances/balls/events, etc. in the Connecticut or New York area where she could have a chance to wear her creations. I've tried our local historical societies, but not much luck.

This is a great site! She's already planning which new patterns to buy.

I'll post a photo of her latest creation, as soon as she's ready to put it on again. It's quite a big deal, with all the layers and the pair of stays to be laced up, etc. I'm a photographer, BTW, so if any of you are in my area and want really good photos, just let me know!!

I know nothing of your area, but I am sure there are others who can give you good info.
Welcome aboard!
