416 Ballgown bodice - shoulders?

Postby totchipanda » Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:50 pm

Hello all,

I am busily constructing a bodice to wear to a time-traveller's ball this weekend (meep! Leaving it a little last minute... good job self). I've taken in the "souffle" chest effect I was getting before (thanks Heather :) ) which has changed the armhole somewhat. I think I can just cut it a little deeper to keep it from digging into my arm, but I am wondering if it's supposed to sit on the point of the shoulder?

The photo is super blurry and barely shows what I want, but you can see that the shoulder strap is currently sitting, unlined, on the point of my shoulder. I don't want to add a sleeve at the moment, because ungathered it sits nearly at my elbow D: The armhole has NOT been cut to fit my armscye yet. If this is the way it's supposed to go, then I guess I will just keep going ahead :)

Thank you for any and all advice!

Yes, the strap should be just at the point of shoulder, and should have enough tension on it to keep if from falling down.
