PATTERN PIECES FOR FULLER FIGURE?

Postby diana » Sat Oct 15, 2011 5:40 pm

A friend of mine has the 2 tone bodice. I measured her and it seems that a G would be the backs and G would be the front. The required measurements are the same as mine and the pieces are what I use (15" back width and 40" bust). HOWEVER she is 4" larger in the waist and 5" larger in the hip. I'm trying to figure out how the darts would be taken in at all with this fuller size. Should the front be cut an H just so there will be darts?

No, if you cut it too larger in the bust, it will just be too big in the bust. To add more room in the waist, I would add some fabric to all the side seams, tapering wider towards the waist and hip. That should give you the extra room
