Eton jacket wearing ease

Postby mgbetz » Sun Nov 23, 2014 3:17 am

Will the 1893 Blouse waist sleeve fit under the Eton jacket sleeve, or does it need to be taken in?

Have not yet bought the blouse pattern. It is for a Steam Punk outfit, so historical accuracy is not an issue for this project. Other blouse waist suggestions welcome.

Thank you,

The 1893 blousewaist sleeve is huge, so it will not fit well under the Eton. But, you can always just use the sleeve lining as the sleeve for a moderate sleeve, or omit the sleeve altogether if you are never wearing the blouse without the jacket.

Can you use the Eton jacket sleeve for the blouse waist?

Or do you mean that you use the lining of the blouse to make it fit under Eton jacket?

Either way will work. Though I was thinking using the blouse sleeve lining.

Many thanks!

I'll use the blouse sleeve lining as a sleeve pattern, and embellish with cuffs, etc.
