Hello...please can you help, i'm wanting to make a deep drape apron using one piece of fabric.. but i can't for the life of me figure it out, I have no pattern to go by for instructions...I know it is probably really simple, but i can't seem to figure it out...do i use a rectangular piece of fabric, do i cut it on the bias, cut A shape and gather/pleat the side...? (similar to the TV364)
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
Claire

Re: Help please with apron...
If you have the pattern for TV364, then you can cut the apron all in one piece. Before you cut your fabric, tape the two apron pattern pieces together at the side front seam, according to your size, and with a 1" overlap (to remove the seam allowances.) At the top, the curve of the side seams will now be a dart. Super easy, but you will need very wide fabric to make it work.
Re: Help please with apron...
Thanks for the input Heather, unfortunately I don't have the pattern, I want to order it but it won't get here on time for me to use the pattern so I was shooting from the hip to make the apron, and hoping someone could help...I have the pattern TV365 thoughts on how to use that to adapt...please..
Thanks again.

Re: Help please with apron...
If you have a dress form and an old sheet (or a roughly you-sized compliant human), you can rip the sheet down to the width of your fabric and just start playing with it. The fronts are usually roughly rectangular, pleated up at the sides. The backs usually have pleats across the top and may have pleats down the sides, or may be gathered or looped in various ways.

You're welcome! Good luck with it. There really aren't many rules. Pin up a picture you like and match it as close as possible.

Why can't you post a pic? I think we all would like to see what you fabricated. It sounds really good.
