Heather: which pattern for this 1890s shirtwaist?

Postby diana » Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:01 pm

Hi Heather!

Which pattern would you use as a base for the "blouse" area?

I plan to manipulate the corselet, make a mockup for the "vest" piece, and have an existing pattern for sleeves. I plan to do the center view without the shirred sleeves (too many people gave those a thumbs down! ha!)

Well, this is all built over a fitted lining, so really, any fitted bodice will work. TV493 - 1890's Plain bodice would be the right shape, with the high collar, short over the hip, and high shoulder line.

Return to “Dresses, skirts, bodices, everything else.”
