Pattern recommendations

Postby Quallus » Mon Jul 03, 2017 6:58 am

Good morning,

I have been eyeballing this beautiful photo for a long time and decided that I want to re-create this look.
http://bishop.slq.qld.gov.au/view/actio ... ePid2=true

The description says that it is a dress buttoned down the front with fitted waist.
Would the TV 432 be a starting point? It looks like there is an overskirt but I am not sure.
Any suggestions?
Thanks so very much.

Looks like the link is no longer working. Is there another way to view your pic? Pinterest maybe?

Wow. There is a lady with a petite figure.
The picture states 1881 or latter. I agree with 1881 to 1883. It looks to be a natural-form polonaise, buttoned down the front that is mid length, possibly to the knee, and pulled up in the lower center front with small pleats or gathers. The sleeve head has a slight fullness that makes it 1880's rather than late 1870's. You can use the tea gown pattern cut shorter and pulled up in the center or you could do a bodice and over skirt of the same color to get a similar look.
