pics of 1840's CORDED peticoats

i was cruising the internet doing research and came across 2 good pictures of corded petticoats. one is a petticoat and corset set and the other a horsehair/corded petticoat.thought this could help anyone who wanted to know what they looked like,to help in your projects!the striped horsehair one i found at a site called corsets and petticoats.com..they had a few good pictures there. well,have a great day! :D

YES! there was a description of the petticoat. it is described as being from the mid 1840's and being made of horsehair supplemented with rows of cording woven in alternating between the horsehair,with a cotton fabric waistband,and silk velvet banding around the hem.it is 36 inches long in front and 40 inches in back to go over a small 1840's padded bustle.it possibly commercially made and is a very hot,heavy,itchy skirt!.this was a actual antique petticoat for sale.the site is http://www.corsetsandcrinolines.com/.it is no longer there i think,but i googled horsehair petticoat and found it again!.
