TV110 Sizing

Postby Martina » Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:21 am

Hello,

I need some help with my TV110 mockup nr 3 - my problem is my side length and I'm not that sure how to deal with that... I did as you suggested in the instructions and measured a side length of 6,3'': my natural waist seems to be quite below the rib cage. My idea now would be to shift the corset waist line up, cut the upper edge and lengthen the lower part, because i actually did like the hip part of the 'original' pattern (the pattern without any changes so far).

This is the mockup from the 'original' pattern: measurements are Bust 36'', Waist 29,5, High Hip 37'', Side length 6,3''.

But wearing the mockup for some time, it felt quite comfortable (except the upper edge of course :)). Now i'm confused and unsure what to do with it - could you please help me?

Thank you and please don't mind my english, I'm from Germany

It looks like you need to shorten the whole thing about 2". What changes did you make before your mockup? Is the mockup with those changes? You say that you like the hip before the changes, so is the photos with the original hip or the changed hip?

If I understand you, you just needed to make the corset shorter from top to waist, about 2.5" To do this, you should not need to change anything below the waist line, so the hip should always be the original. To shorten the corset, I would take about 1.25" out of the middle of the corset, just above the waist. Then also take about 1.25" off of the very top.

No, I didn't change anything on this one. On mockup Nr 2 I did cut off the upper edge about 2'', but left the hip as it was. It looked strange to me, the hip felt too short and the top a bit too low, so i started over with a whole new mockup. If you like, I can upload pics of Nr 2 as well, so you could check on that, too?

Oh, OK. You can always lengthen the hip if you prefer.

As far as height goes, the corset should just cover the lower half over your bust. It supports from underneath. Your chemise will hold in the upper half of your bust. I can't really tell measurements in a photo, so if you feel the 2" was too short. then find a height that you are comfortable with.
