Which corset?

Postby elensari » Thu Oct 31, 2013 8:06 pm

Which corset do you intend for the split skirt? The regular one or the Turn of the Century one?

Thanks!

I would go with a Victorian style corset as they have shorter hips. When you look at riding corsets in general, the hip area is usually pretty short. And by the Edwardian era, I don't think ladies rode that much anymore, as the automobile was now so popular instead. I'm not sure what they would have worn post 1900. Maybe they were scandalous and had given up the corset for riding? I will have to search and see if I can find any corset information for riding post 1900.

Thanks Heather!

Shorter hips, duh. :bang: If I had played that question through in my head better I would have realised that. Thanks so much for answering! You're the best.
