Photos for fitting?

Postby Miss Cindy » Sat Feb 09, 2013 10:58 am

Dear Heather,
Do you have any photo's of corsets that can be used as a comparison for what is a great fit, good fit and I am sure we can guess the bad fits?
I think my corset is not quite right, but I don't know. I'd like to see pictures so I can know exactly how the front is supposed to look, the position of the back and how it is supposed to be, the sides for length, position for the arms.
Being a visual person, it would behove me to see.
If it is possible, I'd love it! :D :D
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cindy
PS: If any of the ladies care to share, woohoo!

Well, this would be an interesting project. I will have to look into it. In the mean time, I did a google image search and found the following pages with corset pics.

If I critique anyone's photo, please do not be offended.

This is a very pretty corset but I can see a few problems. It is too short for her, first off. The front is below the apex of her bust, rather than at or just above it. And in the sides back, the low line allows for a more pronounced muffin top effect. The second issue is that the bust is either too small, or it is over tightened. Just like in a bra, you should not have a quadra-boob effect; bubbling out the top of your corset. This is also causing the muffin top at the sides and back.

This is my own image and is only from the front, but the fit is impeccable. The bust is held up, but with a completely smooth line. The height is just right.

This is another well fitted corset on a slim form. The height is good, and the fit at the bust is very nice. Not too tight, not too loose. I also like the slightly loose fit at the hip.

Maybe it is just the angle of the photos , but this looks way to tall for her, and too long at the hip. And the 1/2" boning is not ideal. I also do not care for the shape it gives her, much too straight in the front, and it makes her look thick in the waist. Fantastic construction, though.

At first glance from the front, I thought this corset was a very nice fit. But in the side view, the bust is up and out the top. Though the height is good, the bust is just a little bit small in the cup, and she should settle into the corset more, rather than be resting her chin on her bust. This should also help reduce the muffin top at the back.

This is an interesting set of photos. All are fairly well fit. If you read her notes, the red corset is her first attempt at the TV110 corset. And then the brown corset is her revised attempt, with the bust improved. She is till unhappy with the hip region, but the only issue I can see with the hip might be the lengths.

Brilliant question, and enormously helpful answer - thank you both so much!
