Thank you for the points on the neckline and sleeves. I'm playing with the idea of putting some tapes in the back of the bodice to swag it up somewhat, so the fullness may not be an issue anyway. All of that will be done on the mockup so I can get an idea. My S.O. commented tonight that the good thi...

I was planning on flatlining the bodice and skirt, but I have yet to tackle threading the serger that's sitting on my sewing table mocking me and has been for a year  I suppose it's because for years I've either totally lined bodices or done flat fell or french seams on skirts. Thank you also ...

Advice needed
I have committed to my first Victorian event, I've ordered the U-02 Natural Form underwear set and I will complete that first before moving on. I do however have some questions. First, when the TV 462 pattern first came out, I told a friend that I thought it was a really neat bodice. A few days late...

On that note... I can't seem to find any information on Victorian groups in Florida, except for some SASS groups. In fact, other than the Carolina Belles, I've found very little in the SE U.S. I really like SASS BTW, but I just really like the idea wearing something fabulous and having a perfect lem...

Sounds like a fabulous find. Unfortunately most of the late 19th century saddles don't fit the modern horse in the United States. Too narrow in the withers for most of them but you may have far better luck with a horse on the other side of the pond. :) I love the pictures! I love tent pegging too. I...

Looks great, I'm jealous you're so far ahead of me  At some point I'll get my first Victorian started, I just have to sew to make ends meet right now after taking a hard hit with my work hours getting cut. On the other hand, at least I have a skill that can help support my S.O. and I. My ...

Kit, I didn't mean to imply that dressage is the only way to ride sidesaddle. I have seen people ride sidesaddle in all different disciplines. Actually, I was answering Erin on that one, I'm a dressage rider too :D Congrats on the Lendon Grey Festival, my horse (sadly passed on now) nearly ran into...

Ok, so now it is a side saddle thread, :D Dressage, while my equestrian discipline, is not the only way to go into side saddle. There are women who show western pleasure, hunter/jumper, saddle, seat, even doma vaquera in side saddles. Some of the western style saddles are gorgeous, but then I'm suck...

S.O. would be Significant Other  Rory really doesn't believe I have any business in a side saddle. In fact, Rory is so opposed to it I constantly say it has to be a past life thing, GRIN. It is more difficult to get out of when you need to kick clear, but then so is an Aussie stock saddle. Drea...

I cut out the placket, and discovered that I actually know how to do a buttonhole stitch by hand, but I had never done it before. A friend of mine says past life experience doesn't count  Scary thing is I feel exactly that way when I wear certain periods, hehe. Also, on the pettis, a large 50 ...
