I made two petticoats from this pattern, one with tucks and one without, and I very much regret not putting tucks in the second one! Good luck with your petticoats!

The tucks help stiffen the petticoat... and they look really pretty and fancy without being a ton of work.

I've used tons of different corset patterns and couldn't get any off them to fit me without pretty much having to chenge everything. With Heather's pattern, I got a perfect fit on the first try.

Sorry about your guinea pig. MY excuse for not sewing lately is that the heat went out so I've been locked in the bedroom with a space heater for a week (the rest of the house got down to 35 degrees!)

When do you need this outfit done by?

Narrow back

So, I want to make a corset for my friend Chrystal. She owns quite a few corsets already and they all squish her breasts too much while there is extra in back. The measurement is right, so it's not too small (one of them is actually too big for her). I'm assuming this means she has a narrow back. Ri...

What was also a miracle this christmas is that my whole family got together this year (first time for any holiday in a good 5 years) and no one got in a fight! That's really amazing! Even my grandma wasn't a total jerk this year! And my Grandparents gave me a vase that supposedly belonged to my grea...

TV101 vs. Grand Bustle

I only have the 101 bustle but want to get the grand bustle pattern soon and was wondering what the hem difference is. As in, will Ihave to make my skirts and petticoats longer once I start wearing them over the grand bustle? If so, how much long will they need to be once I switch to the grand bustl...

Christmas Miracle

Well, My kitten just put a two inch long gash in my (2.5 inch long) pinkie and it's bleeding too much to keep sewing right now. However, I'm bored so I thought I'd tell you about my Christmas miracle that happened this year (since I don't use my pinkies at all when I type and can keep my hurt finger...

Don't worry! Heather's patterns are so wonderful and easy to work with. I doubt you'll have much trouble with them. Good luck!

I have never put a busk in my corsets and can put on and lace up my corset just fine by myself, but a lot of people do have trouble doing so. If you can lace yourself in than you shouldn't need a busk at all.

It would be alot of work to try and make the demifashion patterns fit a BJD.I know for sure that Elfdolls are about 1/3 scale, but Demi patterns are 1/2. I wish it could work though, I'd love to make froofy dresses for my friends dolls (who can afford to own BJD's).

At the college they had a display of civil war stuff including a dress. Everytime I passed it I felt like it was off somehow and bothered me for a while until I stopped to look more closely. They had it on backwards! They assumed the curved seams on the back were supposed to fit over the bust. And t...
