Re: Corset Back

You know Tiffers, the back really doesn't go up any higher than normal. It seems to hit me in the same place as everyone else's. For this corset mock up I used the same size as the last corset I made, Only I shortened it a bit so my figure would have more similar proportions to the fashion plates. I...

Corset Back

Other than because of historical significance, why do corsets go so high up in back? On my body they never seem to want to lie flat (or flatish). Would it be a horrible tragedy to just cut it down by an inch and a half or so? How would this affect the fit of the front?

Re: TV bodices for modern wear

Or you could try some of the longer jacket style bodices that might cover the corset line better than the shorter bodices.

Re: Eyelet vs. Grommet

I personally think that you'd want metal grommets for a victorian corset. Or if you don't want to use metal then you should handsew the eyelets in. The machine sewn ones don't seem to hold up as well for me. And even if you only use them occasionally, the grommet pliers are totally worth it! I remem...

The two other people get a season pass every year, so they're already set on admission. And yes, Going on Saturday was the plan.

I'm starting to get really excited and actually work on my 1912 dress. I hope I can get it done in time! I just finished the corset a few days ago.

Love,
Lidia

I'll put the Victorian Festival on my calendar and hope everything works out right so I can go! I need another chance to wear my dress! It's close enough to my birthday that I can probably guilt somebody into going with me. I probably will be at Greenfield Village a couple times this summer, my step...

I'll have to look into it! A lot of it will depend on whether or not I have a job by then and if my parents will let me use one of the cars! But if I can find transportation there I'd love to go! And just as a note, I'm going to be going to the Ragtime Street Fair thingy at Greenfield village in Jul...

You look wonderful! The only thing I would have done different would be to have something black on the skirt for continuity. Or something like that. But it looks great without as well.

Victorian Days

I don't know if there are many people here from Michigan but figured I'd ask if anyone was planning on going to Victorian Days in Grand Ledge, Michigan this weekend?
