Gemma,
Hope you get a reply. I'm really sorry nobody else has replied either. I thought we had a nice little group going when the idea was first proposed.

Gemma, Had just looked at the thread recently and felt sad that it seemed to have gone "dead" again. I've been longingly looking at my dresses hoping I'd get a chance to wear them before it gets too cold (it'll soon be a year since I last got to attend something!). Anyway, hope we get some...

Hi all, Glad to hear from Tiffers again as I'm still really keen to see Breamore House... In fact I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself that I have had nothing at all to go to all summer (victorian wise I mean). September is looking good for me (any weekend at the moment). So if we want to try...

Gemma, I'm glad you wrote. I tried to contact Tiffers by pm but got no reply. I am bit disappointed as I was really looking forward to the visit and now we are busy the last two weekends in July and we are likely to be away a good part of August too! Maybe September? What does everybody else think? ...

Susan, we went to Beamish a couple of years ago with the children and I have to say, I thought it was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed wandering around the re-created houses, it was like being transported in time. The children thought it was great too and we were only sorry we didn't arrive earlier...

Susan, just seen your message - I'll have a look at the train fares to see if it could be a possibility. Do you live in London yourself?

A bit less keen on London myself, though I love the V&A and haven't been there in many years. I was looking forward to going somewhere to dress up and that would be a bit more complicated in London (taking my gown on the train?) whereas I was going to drive to the other places. Don't fancy drivi...

Hi Susan,
Windsor shows heavy rain for Saturday as well.... :( Did you mean to visit the castle?

Gemma, you are right, I wouldn't want to do it without Tiffers as it was her suggestion, I just meant whether we could have arranged something else on that date (as people had kept that date free) until we could re-arrange Breamore House. But it is a bit short-noticed now to find somewhere we could ...

Shall we post our available dates then?
At the moment, I could make: 13th and 27th June or 11th and 25th of July (either Saturdays or Sundays could be ok)

Susan, just saw your message appeared at the same time as mine. Sadly, we are away on the 20th of June and the 4th of July we have people visiting. What a shame! I was really keen to go. If many people were free this Saturday, should we go ahead and do something anyway? (though shame about the rain ...

Oh, what a disappointment! I just got my dress out to try it on (not been to anything since November)... However, I've just checked and heavy rain is forecast for Salisbury on Saturday. How many were due to go? The weekends get busy, what would be an alternative date? Can we organise something else?

Hi, I've just come on the site to check what the final plans are as well... but it seems to have gone quiet... Anybody heard from Tiffers with confirmation? Would like to know what time we are meeting and if we can get changed there when we arrive. I hope it is still on as I've been looking forward ...

Hi Tiffers, I can't remember if you said that we would be able to get changed there? I must admit I only ever had one go at driving in a victorian gown and corset and that was only for a short journey! Wouldn't want to do it as far as Salisbury! About the photos, I'm fine with that too. And for the ...

Thank you. It's beautiful.

Hi Tiffers and others, A Sunday might have been better for me, but I think I could make a Saturday too if it's better for everybody else. As for partners, I sadly can't quite get my husband into the dressing up thing (though still working on it) but I'm sure I can take at least one daughter with me....

Straw hat in winter - a complete no-no??

Hi Everybody, I have a whole outfit which I made to wear in summer (but as it is gold and red, I thought it would be good for Christmas time as well) except that the hat is straw (trimmed with bows, flowers and feathers)... my question is: do I need to make a new winter hat for it? I haven't much ti...
