I just remembered that a few months ago I was at JCPennys and they had an awesome red wool suit skirt fully pleated with side pleats all the way around. I was curious and lifted up the hem to see how they kept all the pleats so neat and they had what looked like a piece of masking tape about two inc...

Back in the fall of 1999 or so, in Kansas City KS, we had a HUGE snowstorm, it was before Halloween even, so most of the trees had not lost their leaves. So many trees broke from the weight of the snow on their full leafy branches that they took out many electric wires and phone lines. The damage wa...

I am glad to have read this before I started my new underskirt! Is there any tricks to getting pleats to lay right? I just finished a sleeve with pleated cuffs, but I want an entire bottom half of a skirt to be pleated too. Should I line the pleated fabric(medium wieght dupioni and cotton satine)? H...

hmmmm... I wonder how many felt horrid about themselves after reading that! It sounds kinda like the Cosmopolitan of our time! I'm sure somewhere in there it says something along the lines "Five ways to make him notice you!" and "The popular colors for the coming season" LOL

I always start about two sizes smaller than what the envelope says. Then after constructing one half of the corset (one side) I hold it up and see how it wraps around. It fits all differently with the boning in, so be careful.

That's neat looking. So let me get this right, you flatlined twill tape to the back of red satin then made the casings? My first one ever  was an art project and I just borrowed a pattern without instructions and made something like that, but being a dunce I used light fabric and ribbon for my...

I've had a cut off 13 inch braid sitting in the closet for about two years trying to find a way to make a rat, bangs or something fun out it. It's just waiting until it happens.. or my son drags it out to play with it
