Corset Covers

Does anyone have a pattern for a corset cover? Or really simple directions for using a TV pattern as a basis for one? I can modify patterns but have never drafted one so I need some sort of starting point I can adapt.

Polonaise question

Have badly have I screwed myself up if I taped piece A1 (Front) and A2 (side front) all the way up and cut out the piece? Can I just make a dart for the side seam there? If I do should I bone that dart? Would that seam get boned anyway?

Thanks guys.=)
I'm going to PDX GEAR Con and will be wearing it there. I wanted something that could work for Steampunk and Victorian authenticy both.

Re: Cicago, Seattle, Portland, SF - Autumn 2011?

One of my favorite fabric places is Fabric Depot in Portland. They have an acre of fabric and frequent sales and coupons that you can get online for 40% a single item. Oregon does not have sales tax so the price you see is the price you pay. If you can hit their monthly 35% off all fabric and 25% ev...

Re: Polinaise

Both are listed as dating to 1874-1876. So if I made TV410, I could not attach the tapes and leave the back plain over the bustle? That's sort this of what I was thinking. I want this dress to do double duty for both the Historical society events and as a Steampunk explorer.

Polinaise

I've fallen in love with these two natural linen Polinaise dresses at the Manchester City Galleries. They look like morning dresses and seem plainer than others. My question is how much pouffing would they have? I'm making the skirt out of dark brown linen in the Grand Parlor Skirt patern and the Po...

Socio-Economic question

Thursday I wore my 1871 outfit to help the county historical society with "Pioneer School". They mostly focused on the Oregon Trail but had a recreation of an 1880 school too. The lady in charge said that since 1871 fell between the two times they focused on the outfit would work when I ta...

Trimings for TV416 Ball Gown Bodice

I've got the lining and the fashion fabric sewed to each other and after I put in the boning I'll be putting the two together. What I have questions on is - is now the time to trim or do I do that latter? How does one trim it if it fastens in front? Does this mean swags of fabric and lace is out? Wh...

Thanks for the replies but I found millanery wire at one of the fabrics stores for 79cents a yard. I made my first hat and am working on another.
