Re: I'm featured in a piece at CNN.com

You know I don't think I ever did. It came together organically. I made the overskirt, the extra bustle ruffle and a corselet to wear as a dressed down steampunk outfit for The Asylum 2010. Then at the beginning of 2011 I wore the two skirt pieces with my safari bodice and skirt. I really liked how ...

Tv 101 -washing

My bustle petticoat, and actually my corset too, could use a wash. I'm not sure how to do it thought because of the steels. Thoughts?

Not enough fabric for fantail train

I'm trying to make the fantail skirt with train out of some stash fabric. I'm all good except I don't have enough fabric for the train insert at the back. I'm at a loss. I know I could use different fabric or just cut it floor length but is there anything else I could do like make a narrower sweep? ...

Re: Victorian dress survival tips

Here's another thing I learned the hard way. If you are drinking (booze) and you start to get tipsy and plan on staying that way just go to pee every 60 minutes or so not when you feel like it's time. The compression from the corset, the lack of complete awareness from the booze and the longer proce...

Re: Zipper on French Vest Bodice

Just wanted to mention that I put the zipper in my bodice tonight. It looks fab! I ended up losing a lot more fabric from the fronts than I would have anticipated although I'm not completely sure if that is because of the zipper completely or if the bodice was a little big anyway. I think the proces...
