Re: Inceasing the Size of TV 141

I think you should just stay with the 140-150 circum. and see where the pettis and dress take you. i have never made the cage crinoline, but from what I can see of the picture, it seems easy to make the "bag" section bigger and then make the hoops smaller from there. You will have to use m...

Heather used to have straw frames for sale, then she stopped.... Boo... :( I loved those hats! Now i either have them made for me by kelly( AKA Elesari) or I cover the frames that I find at michales.

What if you did the bodice lining in the taffeta, and then did the gathered overlay in a sheer or perhaps lace?

I can see it.... And I love it. For your first corset, it is really good. I didn't even try flossing on my first one. I can't wait to see the dress that goes over it. :D

Re: Petticoat for German Day dress

It would be warm, i would think. But a couple of rows or cording on the bottom should be ok to hold the shape.

Re: Petticoat for TV 141?

I kinda made my own based upon the Demi fashions petticoat. I made it with the top yoke section of three panels of 54 wide taffeta, then I pleated five panels on the bottom of the yoke. It's not over the cage crinoline, but one of my own: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3EyaT8QFWF8/SzrJpMEIv-I/AAAAAAAAAA0...

I'll give it a go: Usually, you would just use a corded petticoat, with a ruffled petti over that to achieve the fullness, or you could starch a ruffled petticoat and get the same fullness. Or if you don't want to do miles of cording, or spend hours with hot water and starch, just grab a small hoop,...

The patterns of fashion books have a good amount about 1890's. Also there is a book with 1890's patterns on amazon, but I can't remember who wrote it, sorry.... :bang:
