Blue and White Striped Gown

Just off the machine. Under the hood is the Grand Bustle TV108, a flounced lace petticoat and a regular petticoat on top. The skirt is the 1865 Elliptical Skirt TV247 with a few waistline adjustments. The overskirt is inspired by the 1884 Wash Overskirt TV362. The bodice is the 1885 Cuirass Bodice T...

Thanks! The roses come either as a yoke or you can buy them in yardage and cut to the size you want.

Royal Purple Shabby Chic Gown

This is a gown I finished today. Under the hood is the Grand Bustle TV108. The skirt is the 1885 Four-Gore Underskirt with ruffles of black opaque fabric and plum tulle down the length. The overskirt is the 1872 Side Drape Overskirt with the 1873 Polonaise pouf added to the back. The bodice is the 1...

Re: Powder Blue Rococo-Inspired Gown

Thanks! It's a really nice matte poly taffeta I found. It has the weight and hand of a silk taffeta and without the usual poly taffeta sheen.

Powder Blue Rococo-Inspired Gown

This is a late Baroque-inspired gown I just finished last night. Under the hood is the Grand Bustle TV108 and a flounced petticoat using the 1885 Four-Gore Underskirt TV261 as a base. Over that I have another TV261 to smooth out the flounces. The dress itself is the 1869 Grand Parlor Skirt TV202 wit...

Re: TV bodices for modern wear

my suggestion: baste a toile of a corset you've already sized for yourself and know that the size works in something stiff like duck. Put it on [no boning necessary] and put on the pants or pants style you'll wear the most. Mark where the waist rests above the waistband of the pants. When you take o...

Re: Binding with Velvet

Maybe you can bind with a mixture 2 Hong Kongs. Take the cotton velvet bias strip and bind one bias end with organza bias and then start hand sewing the free end of the velvet to the armhole in such a way that when it is turned, the organza bias is wrong sides together on the inside. When it's all s...
