Laundry disater

I made a dress out of red, white and blue dupioni silk. Before sewing it together, I washed each color seperatly in hot water. I wore the dress yesterday and washed it this morning in the cold gentle cycle. Sadly, the red bled over the white and now it's bright pink. I didn't put it in the dryer. Is...

My daughter, who is going to be 13, wants a 1950's style dress for her birthday. It
has a floofy skirt and I said, "it looks like you'll need a petticoat."
"I don't think so," she replied. "I have a vest."

Unfortunatly, she doesn't know what a petticoat is!

I have a pair of Ladies Traveling Boots from Blockade Runner. They're so comfortable and aren't terribly expensive either.

My cat loves to make figure eights around my ankles, but when I'm wearing a hoop, she really goes to town. Sometimes she'll stay under there and walk with me and I won't know she's under there for a while!

Defarbed version of Scarlett's BBQ dress?

Her dresses are gorgeous and I was thinking of making a more authetic version of the barbeque dress, but even if the fabric is the same, would it be so far from the original that it would be unrecognizable as the barbeque dress? I thought something with dropped shoulders and bishop sleeves. Also, wh...

People stepping on my train. People stepping on my skirt when I'm going down the stairs. When I'm wearing flannel, if I go near a puddle the skirt will absorb all of the water out of the puddle and the bottom six inches of my skirt will be soaking. Of course, I only wear my flannels in the winter an...

Absolutely! I almost always wear Regency/Victorian/Edwardian clothes. For me, modern clothes are so ugly and immodest. Why should I wear something awful just because everyone else is wearing it? Sure, people stare. Last week, I wore my yellow gingham 1830's dress to the Field Museum in downtown Chic...
