Mysterious loop on vintage bodice

A local museum has contacted me with a question. A loop on the back lower edge of blouse. I am pretty sure it was used to hook skirt to and keep the blouse pulled down but just want to make sure before I tell them.

Use stripe in skirt, black as accent and gray as over.

If I was traveling to New York I would hit MOOD fabrics. Every time I watch Project Runway and see it my heart rate goes up!

Re: Getting the rounded look at the bustline

I get more lift from my corsets than a bra and I too have nursed 4 babies.. I get a bit more flatted look than true curve from my corsets.

Are you making a day dress or evening gown? For day I would say wool, evening silk.

Re: What do you use for tracing patterns

I use banner paper that I buy at WalMart or if I know someone who is getting married I will buy the aisle runner after the event, can actually sew it together and try on.

Re: How to figure out this Edwardian Jacket

I think by the time it is changed to a front closure some of the fullness could be reduced. I have been thinking about making a silk/linen fabric I have into this. Maybe we can figure it out together.

Re: How to figure out this Edwardian Jacket

Looks alot like Heathers edwardian blouse. Sleeves are similiar and it does have an apronish panel on bottom. would have to rework to be front opening however.
