You look great in your outfit. I always think it is so much more fun to se a person in the dress compared to when it is on a dress form.

Have you seen these boots?

Aren't they cute? http://www.amazon.com/Bordello-Womens-WHIMSEY-115-Strap-Velvet/dp/B0028AWSXM/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_5 Now it seems that most places don't have them in black in sizes larger than 6 but I asked an ebay seller who said she would have them in stock in black in larger sizes in 3-4 weeks. Of co...

Hello again. Last night a ironed the thing a bit and ripped the side seams as far as the waist and that seemed to fix the problem because the waist wrinkles disappeared and it was clear that the pieces wanted to spread apart more below the the waist than what was previously allowed. So tonight I'll ...

Thank you for for the help! It is so great that you are willing to give personal advice about the fit. It really makes a difference. I am glad I will not have to do anything about the center front. I'll unpick the side seams and check if any length adjustment is necessary first, and then I'll probab...

Wedding gress mock-up

Hello! I will be getting married in one year and I'll be making the dress myself using TV patterns as well as some of my own draping and drafting. The basis for the bodice will be TV460 http://trulyvictorian.com/catalog/460.html . I have made my first muslin in cotton broadcloth and could use some a...

Hello. I am sorry I haven't answered your post. I had some major computer problems due to a horrible trojan and after that I have been away. Now this was some time ago so I can't be 100% sure but I am almost certain that I used 6 rolls for the negative mold and 6 rolls for the final dummy. It is ver...

Beautiful work! Did you adapt the pattern in the front or did you just cut it lower. I have been thinking about using this pattern for an underbust too, but I have been stuck doing other things.

Oops! I guess I didn't read the info well enough to realise there would actually be a prize to ship...I thought you just won the "honor" :) Unfortunately I don't have any really good ideas about the shipping. It is constantly a problem for me when I buy things from overseas: shipping+taxes...

For boning I'd recommend http://www.venacavadesign.co.uk . It is closer so you don't have to may as much for shipping and since it is within the EU you don't have to pay customs fee. I have used their plastic hoop boning in my bustle with success. It holds up well and is very light, and you can cut ...

I have noticed that different brands vary quite a lot. When I read reviews of bias tape makers last summer people seemed to agree that the Clover brand was the best. I think that may be true since it is quite closed and flat at the end that goes closest to your iron so the tape doesn't have a chance...

Thank you. :D I am happy with it. I am hoping it will allow me to make the major adjustments without so much help from my boyfriend, even though he is starting to become quite good att pinning and adjusting  I might even try draping some patterns on my own. Yay!

I finally finished my dress form....It has been a while but other things got in the way. I added a neck (my neck) to the form and covered it in thin felted cotton and after that a thin flowered cotton fabric. I am very happy about how it turned out. It is pinnable too. Here are the pictures. And the...

Hi. Nice to know there is another Swede here! The swatches are not free. You pay for 10 cm of fabric and they send you a (10 cm x width of fabric) strip of fabric. that actually works out pretty well since you get a better feel for the drape of the fabric than you do with smaller swatches. I ordered...
