What patterns should I use to make this?

Good Afternoon,

I have been in love with this gown for a long time and now have the time to make it. What patterns do you recommend? The flat front of the skirt makes me this Belle Epoque, but the high waist makes me think Edwardian. Any help would be appreciated!

Natural Form Bodice as Corset

Good Evening, A pretty odd question; I am looking to make an underbust corset with a full back, shoulders, and neckline and I was thinking I may be able to modify one of the natural form bodice patterns into a corset? The corset is for a costume and would lace completely closed... I just keep lookin...

1890's Victorian Corselets as underbust corset?

Good Afternoon! Can this pattern be used corselet? I'm thinking of wearing it over over a blouse and a pair of bloomers as part of a masked ball costume; there will be no corset underneath, so the corselet will be snug, but I'm not using it for figure shaping, but more for the look. Thoughts? Thank ...

How should imperial tournure be worn?

Good Afternoon! I usually wear the Imperial tournure over my combination underwear, and then have the petticoats over that. However, I see in the pictures of the imperial tournure in the catalog that Heather is wearing the bustle over the petticoats. Obviously you need to see the bustle for photos, ...

Early Bustle Bodice Mockup Round 2-Help

Good Evening Everyone! I had a chance to re-mock-up the bodice following Heather's earlier suggestions. Please see the images below and let me know what else needs to be changed. The wrinkles in the back of the bodice just under the armpits follows the squished fat on my back that is above the edge ...

Re: Early Bustle Bodice Mock-Up Help!

Hi Heather! Thank you for the super quick response! I'll reverse the dart heights, and change the angle of the shoulder line a little bit. I think the riding up is caused (in part) to the twisting I was doing to get the picture. The neckline does need tweaking, (it's a little too small) and I think ...

Early Bustle Bodice Mock-Up Help!

Hi All!

I just completed a mock-up for my early bustle plaid dress. Would anyone be willing to advise on the fit? I am thinking the shoulder seams need to come down lower, and the armhole needs a little bit of refinement.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated! :P :P :P :P

So gorgeous!!! The gold silk with the lace is a lovely combination, and I simply adore the pleats at the bottom. The hat is delightful and truly makes the dress a complete ensemble, lovely work!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Please help-need advise on trim for skirt

Good Evening!

I am having a hard time deciding what I should do next on the skirt; the TV208 trained skirt ensemble. Should I add the pink knife pleating to cover the seam attaching the ruffles, or should I leave the seam alone? The seam bothers me; any other suggestions? :?
Thank you! :P

TV208 Trained Skirts phase 2

Good Afternoon~ I just finished the main components of the overskirt for my plaid silk dress. The downside is despite my best efforts and a very simple plaid to match, I still couldn't get the pattern to match on the sides....le sigh. I used the TV208 trained skirt pattern, just modified the hemline...

TV208 Trained skirt pics

Good Morning Everyone! Here is the first part of the dress completed; the fashion plate dress on the left is the inspiration. I used TV208 Trained Skirt Ensemble. The maroon fabric will be covered with an overskirt. The bottom part of the skirt is faced with light cotton twill and the blue pleats ar...

tv208 Should I add Bustle ties?

Good Afternoon!

I just completed the TV208 for the base skirt of my plaid dress. Should I add bustle ties on the inside to keep the fabric in place like I do with the late bustle skirts? The fabric does seem to move to the sides of the bustle.

Any thoughts?

Thank You!!! :bounce:

Re: First corset and chemise finished!

This is lovely, you did a wonderful job and the fabric is just delightful! I think your assessment is good; but I think making the next corset about 3/4 of inch taller at the top (I'd just extend the lines of the pattern pieces), you probably won't need to go up a size in the bust......Great Work! :o

What should I line silk with?

Good Afternoon Everyone! I'm hoping someone here could help me. I have a light weight embroidered silk that will be made into a natural form evening gown. There is going to be a bit of trim on the skirt bottom. What should I line the skirt with? I was thinking a lightweight broadcloth, any suggestio...

2nd Corset and Combinations

Good Evening! I made a second corset shortening it 3/4" inch between the waist and top of corset and shaved a little bit off the waist. The combinations were just finished tonight, and they are soooo cute, I love this pattern; makes the most lovely Victorian underwear. Thank you for such great ...

TV110 Help!!! Did I make it too tall????

Hi Heather! I am having a moment of slight panic; please see below images of the final corset...I feel like I made the corset too tall from the waist to the top of the corset. When I sit down the girls are almost under my chin! I am perfectly willing to make another corset as the pattern goe...
