Steam Punk gathering, Las Vegas Feb 6-8, 2015

http://steamathon.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; FWIW, no affiliation with the event other than friends and I plan to attend. We checked out the Casino (but not the hotel rooms) on a prior trip. Lovely! Great place for an informal photo shoot in costume, not just Steam Punk. Hop...

Re: Eton jacket wearing ease

Many thanks!

I'll use the blouse sleeve lining as a sleeve pattern, and embellish with cuffs, etc.

Eton jacket wearing ease

Will the 1893 Blouse waist sleeve fit under the Eton jacket sleeve, or does it need to be taken in?

Have not yet bought the blouse pattern. It is for a Steam Punk outfit, so historical accuracy is not an issue for this project. Other blouse waist suggestions welcome.

Thank you,

Gwen

Skirt elevator? DIY?

Looking for a tutorial on making my own skirt elevators, or a source where to buy them.

Not the elastic garters seen in Steampunk, something more like the 1890's patented clip, pulley, and cord...that can be altered or lowered whilst wearing a walking skirt, for example.

Thanks "sew" much!

New Edwardian Bodice?

When will the new new bodice be available? I was hoping at Costume College...

Have an event late this month and have high hopes, or will go with an earlier TV bodice.

Thanks!

TV401 shoulder question

Not certain if this blouse is designed with slightly dropped shoulders, similar to CW era, or the sleeve should pivot at the shoulder line?

Wondering also when the dropped shoulders of CW gave way?

Thanks!

Re: Did I hear 1850s basque bodice?

Excellent!

By that time I should have completed the 3 patterns I bought at Costume College. NOT diffcult to sew, I'm just slow on selecting fabrics :)

Reporting in from Costume College-Van Nuys CA. The demi dresses and forms are splendid. Truly lovely designs...and what a teaching tool they can be. Please note...One of the forms on display showed underwear, including drawers to hoop skirt, to petticoat. The back half of the petticoat was on the ho...

TV 443 Bodice question

Here's the situation. The muslin for this fits in the largest size except for the bust. Back and underarms, neck appears ok (could use a bit room on the neck though--can scoop that a bit). Sleeves, no problem. Considering wearing ease, based on the other TV patterns I've sewn, would cutting wider da...

Highly recommend Elizabeth Stewart Clark's website and http://www.agsas.org/howto/clothing/index.shtml, also authentic campaigner and western campaigner dot com websites. The chemise and drawers patterns (free) from Mrs Clark's site work up fast, are authentic and also are easy to sew. Can also dire...

Those two classes were delightful!

btw, next years theme is 18th Century. Not my cup of tea, however, there are always wonderful classes suitable for any period.

My only regret is not signing up for more classes this year :)
