Sheer 1830s sleeves

I just bought some lovely sheer (plaid) cotton fabric for an 1830s dress (TV455) for summer, but I'm a bit stumped on the sleeves. With my last dress (brown plaid silk), I didn't line the sleeves, or even have sleeve supports because I ran short on time and my silk was fairly stiff. My new fabric is...

Fabric dating

I found this lovely fabric at Walmart (one that still sells fabric!) for only $2/yard, and I'm not sure exactly about the dating. I'm thinking early-mid 19th century. (I'm hoping it would be okay for the 1830s) Thoughts?

Re: Phantom of the Opera Hannibal Slavegirl Collar

I was procrastinating doing my schoolwork for that week, but it turned out okay because I ended up not even going to class :D (I'm home-schooled/classically-educated and go to a class every week for discussion, etc.)

Phantom of the Opera Hannibal Slavegirl Collar

I got inspired one afternoon and this happened. Eventually I'll make a bodice and a dressing gown (I have silk for the dressing gown). IMG_1442.JPG IMG_1443.JPG (This one is turned for some reason) IMG_1444.JPG Lots of beading. The flowers were originally a yard of trim with cheap-looking gold beads...

Corded Petticoat and 1830s dress

photo (2).JPG Here is my completely hand sewn corded petticoat. It took me about 2 months to make. It has 55 rows of cotton cord. https://www.flickr.com/photos/128199040@N05/sets/72157649484512836/ Also, here is my 1830s dress, sewn from the TV455. It is also hand sewn, and it took me about a week ...

Re: Wishing Gown help

Thank you, Heather. I will use the cotton, whenever I can actually find the time to make the dress. :)

Re: TV110 Sizing (or Bra size vs. Corset size)

I'm late on this subject, and was just reading through it, but wouldn't you need to subtract from your hips and bust, as well as your waist, for the "spring" in the back? Forgive me if this was covered in the pattern; I haven't used it.

1850s fabric

Would this fabric be accurate for an 1850s summer dress? I think it might be a no, but I've stared at it for too long to trust myself. https://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/p93332_30290-whiteblack-cotton-lawn ETA: also this one? https://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/p81885_29098-green-diamond-dot-shirting

Wishing Gown help

I’m a huge fan of the musical Phantom of the Opera, and Christine is pretty much my favourite character of all time. One of her costumes is called the Wishing Gown, and it’s my favourite at the moment. I fancy myself a lot like her, and the song she sings while wearing this dress is special to me be...
