Tencel Fabric

I am looking for black fabric that breaths to make a widows dress for re-enactment. I have seen tencel cotton online but not in person. Anyone out there know anything about this fabric? I live in the desert & it gets very hot & humid during the summer. I have about 90 seconds to get the dres...

Re: gather/ruffle foot help.

Holy Moly!!! Why oh why didn't I see this before. The information given for ruffling/pleating is wonderful and has answered sooooo many of my questions! THANK YOU...I don't think I will dread the next client that wants a gazillion ruffles on her dress.

Dressforms

I need a new dressform...which one do you gals like & why. I have an old one that has cranky knobs but I love her! She stands straight & never falls when I push & pull dresses on her, she takes pins like a champ, she is just too big for me now. Can't find a label or tag on her anywhere! ...

TV 463

Love this bodice & want to use it for my next project, my question is, can I use the back of TV 420 or 460 with TV 463 front. Thought I had seen a thread about this issue but was unable to find it! :D

Re: Natural form dinner gown

I have had some success with 'nylon rip stop' fabric. I started using it because of the wooden sidewalks we have here in Timbstone and noticed that I don't have as much trouble with the train not staying correct. I get the fabric from fabric.com. Good luck!

Re: SULLIVAN'S QUILTING BASTING SPRAY

Ok...tried the basting spray & I love it. Used it on a lace cover up to tack a 1/2 wide lace to the edge. Held the 2 laces together without pinning....sewed the pieces of lace together perfectly. Haven't tried it to flatline yet, but it worked so well on the lace that I have no doubt it will wor...

If you are asking if you van use vinegar in a spray bottle to set pleats the answer is yes. Works great! My daughter uses vinegar & water in a spray bottle on all her ironing.

SULLIVAN'S QUILTING BASTING SPRAY

Was searching around for fabric online & came across this Basting Spray. Has anyone ever used it? Can it be used on clothes...like on fashion fabric when you flat-line it?

Re: Tv 101 -washing

I wash my delicates in white vinegar & tepid water. Refreshes color & whitens the whites. DOES NOT LEAVE A VINEGAR ODER!!! It doesn't need to be rinsed out. There are a gazillion uses for vinegar...it is a natural disinfectant & deodorizer, it kills germs & is not harmful to pets or ...

Re: WITHOUT A CORSET?

I get sooooooo frustrated with clients that want you to make them a "PERIOD CORRECT" dress & will not listen when you talk with them about foundations! Would they build a house without the correct foundation. I think not! If it is going to look period correct it must have period correc...
