Re: TV550 silly questions

Great!!! That totally answers my questions about were to place the basting on the brim, before cutting out the middle. So glad I waited, was about to do it the other way and cover the wire in bias tape. Thanks!

Re: TV550 silly questions

Do the basting stitches to hold everything together get stitched in a manner to leave the wire around the donut section exposed, or does that inner wire get caught into the basting and covered like the edged wire?

TV550 silly questions

Hi, I finally got around to making the TV550 short crown hat, after having the pattern for nearly 3 years, lol, Any how, I am about to sew the brim up and curious where to sew the middle section at. The directions said to stitch all the layers together, just inside the middle wire circle..... Ok her...

No, I just needed the finished hem width on size XL, I am doing the pleating very narrow and tight so I can figure out out how yardage I need to pre cut and such.
Thanks for such great responses!

Quick questions about 201

Greetings! I just started on a dress that needs to be done in two weeks, shame on me! But I am trying to figure out how much fabric I need to portion out for pleats around the bottom of TV201, and I recalled Heather put up a really handy dandy chart of all finished measurements of hem widths last ye...

I cheated on my last dress and it turned out well, but I did my horizontal edge separate and just had the vertical edge go right over the lower edge. I guess that kinda makes sense....

My first TV bodice I just sewed wide ribbon around the edges to finish it. Sadly in the time that it took me to do it, I no longer could fit into it. But it did look fine.

I'm curious as to which chemise pattern you are using that have buttons at the shoulder. I've not noticed anything like that, but sounds really nice.

You sound like me in size, and TV110 really helped me get a good shape, the only thing that bugged me was that I had to knock down my cup size a bit to stop from slipping down. Truthfully, I could have added padding, but it seemed like too much bother at the time. Also using a mix of spiral and flat...

Help, lost pictures!

Hi all who find it in their hearts to take the time to read this. Last year someone was awesome enough to post a brown and gold brocade 1880's bustle dress on the site from Vintage Martini web site. I fell in love with the style of the dress and vowed to try my hand at copying it. I bookmarked it an...
