Re: Did I hear 1850s basque bodice?

Here's an off topic reply. Those horizontal liney thingies in your picture that make the bodice look piratey - is there a name for those?

Re: My first mock up , play-play corset

When I built my LM 100 Dore, I took in the top 2-3 inches of the seam between front-center and front-side on either side of the busk. (So, the one directly over the bust on each side on each wide of the busk.) I took it in by probably 3/4 of an inch at the very top, and tapered that to nothing by ab...

Fabric Width and the Grand Parlour Skirt

Hello again everyone! I'm planning to construct a Grand Parlour skirt, and I have found some material I would like to use. The fabric is only 40" wide, though, and the layout calls for 45" wide. it seems like I should still be able to make the skirt, as the panels aren't the fully width of...

I. however, have a slight problem. I have alupoecia, meaning my hair falls out periodically. Right now it's about 90% gro...

Hi!

Hello everyone.

I'm new here, so I thought I'd say Hi.

So... anyone know about anything interesting happening in Atlantic Canada?

Questions about Underpinnings

Hello everyone! I'm new to both Victorian costuming and sewing in general. In fact, I'm waiting for the pattern for my first set of Victorian undergarments to arrive, and I have a few questions. About fabric: I live in an area that has both a very cold winter and a very hot summer, so I figure that ...
